Soccer

This Spring, Ethan played on a YMCA soccer team.

The very first practice, he was all excited about going and playing. Then we get there, he cried almost the whole time and barely did any of the drills. I think he was intimidated and self-conscious. The first game, he would either stand on the field and cry or walk over to the sidelines and pout. OMG, for real! That was hard for Paul and I. His coach assured us in time he would start to play and have fun. He was right!

By the end of the season, Ethan was out there running and attempting to "get in there" and get the ball. I think he liked playing goalie the best. He had several great saves. It always pumped him up hearing the parents cheer for him. What is funny about this age...as they are learning the game - they look like a pack of animals just running up and down the field.

It was a great season, and Ethan is looking forward to playing again. After the last game, Coach handed out trophies and said a little something about each player. He said Ethan "was the most improved and came the farthest" player. Without a doubt, that's the truth.

Graham's 3rd Birthday

Wow! It's been a long time since I've posted...

Graham's birthday was so much fun. Bug Party. We filled a pool with dirt, added 3 containers of night crawlers and let 'em dig. I did not plan any other activities, but none were needed. Dirt will keep boys and girls busy for hours! Love that. Bugs showed up in all the food at the party - I thought I was pretty ingenius. I loved seeing the reactions of the adults.

The Dirt Pile

It's my party I'll pout if I want to

Is this not the CUTEST pair of boys! I believe I took this before school last Thursday, they were playing monster trucks.

Friday night we had some friends over, this is all the kids winding down before we put them to bed.

Lucas, Graham, Jaxon, Becca and Ethan

Lastly, Paul made the boys a trapeze in the backyard. I caught them doing this, this afternoon...

Easter 2009

I managed to get a few pictures this year. It was difficult but I forced the boys to do it.
We started the day by waking them up at 6:45am. YES, you read that right. We went to the 8am service to make room for others at the last 2 services. Good thing we did, it took people 30 minutes just to park and make it in the church!
After church is when I forced them in front of the camera before the Bunny came to visit.
I didn't fix the red-eye, but at least you are getting to see pictures!

Having Boys

I think this is what it will be like having boys...I just wish I had pictures of it all.
Last Saturday Ethan started complaining of his ear hurting.

Monday I knew for sure it was an ear infection. Graham's knees were almost healed from a nasty spill a few weeks ago.

Tuesday Graham crashed and burned again both knees and a foot have serious strawberries.

Wednesday at Ethan's soccer practice Graham fell 5 feet off the jungle gym, landed on his butt. Ethan's ear is feeling better after meds.

Thursday at my birthday dinner, in our neighbor's backyard, all the kids went to town in the sand pit. Graham gets bit by a mosquito, his eye is so swollen he can hardly open it.

Friday the kids swim in our neighbors hot tub, Ethan gets sun burned.

For real, this has been our week!!!

Spring Break

Over spring break, the boys and I drove to Memphis with my Mom. That is where she is from and all her family still lives there. It was a fun trip. I have not been there since Ethan was a baby. Monday Mom arrived and we headed out. Since she had been driving that day from Houston, we spent the night in Arkadelphia. They had an indoor pool, so I took the boys for a swim. Saying the water was heated, is a bit of a stretch. I sucked it up and did it anyway.

Tuesday we finished out the drive to Memphis. We arrived at my Aunt Dot's house, she opened the door and looked like death warmed over. On for the search for a hotel room for a few nights.

My cousin, Leigh, has 2 kids...Cameron, 5 and Bailee, 2.5. What fun for the boys to have playmates while we were there. We did not do major activities, but spent most of the time visiting and letting the kids play outside.

We saw a fire truck at the mall. The boys got inside and looked around. They love that.

Real Memphis BBQ. Need I say more. YUMMY!!!
