How Fast Underdog Changes

I took pictures 2 times over the past 3 days.  Here's the first set.  Mainly concentrated in office, den/dining and kitchen.  That is where most of the work is happening right now.
Under the paneling in the study was this beautiful fuzzy green wallpaper.

And down comes the kitchen wall.

Up goes the temporary walls until the support beam is in place.  Notice the carpet is gone (all through the house) - so no more stale pee smell.

Down the hall.

Master bedroom

Master bath getting ready for a face lift, ceiling lift - we will be adding a wall to close up the bathroom.

You can't really see, but under the 80s paper was fuzzy iridescent paper.

And all the junk goes to the backyard.

The Udnerdog Tour part 2

And here is the bedroom wing of the house
This room is left off the hallway, it will be the boys room.  It's not quite as small as it looks.

And the little nook.

Bathroom.  More dropped ceilings.

This will be guest bedroom.  You have to look real hard past all the junk to see it's potential!

Entrance to the master.  You are going to be so jealous of the coordinating 80s theme.

Jealous yet?  Just wait.

Master bath.  What?  No wall?  More matchy matchy.  Wait 'til you see what's under that wallpaper!

The Underdog Tour Part 1

The Underdog is what I'll our diamond in the rough.  Back in January Paul and I stumbled upon a house - we were not looking or in the market - but she was perfect for us to give lots of love to and make our own.  Here's the grand tour of what she looked like when we first toured....
Don't you love those pretty blue country blue shutters!
I don't know why but I don't have a view coming in the front door.  You can see it there on the left.  This is the dining room - it will be closed with french doors to become the office.
Off to the left is the office.  This is the very long den, which will be the den/dining room.  See that dark corner there by the fireplace?  Yep, that's one concentrated area of stale dog pee.  I dropped my phone in it...sick!
Going down to the far end of that room, you can see the dinette area of the kitchen.  I know your jealous of that.
And into the kitchen, with the beautiful dropped ceiling.  That doorway down there will be closed up to the office.
Going back to the front entrance - the hallway down to the bedrooms....see next post...

Bras are for girls

I just had a funny conversation with this sweet little face

"Mommy, what's this?"
"My bra."
"You wear them on these."
he pats my chest
"Yes."
"Daddy's don't wear them."
I laugh. "No they don't."
"Daddy's have little ones."
I laugh even harder.
"Yes they do."

Such innocence.  Precious and funny.

Dressed and Ready

The past 2 days Ethan has wanted to play basketball with his spare time before school.  Who am I to not let him burn out some restless energy.  It is fun watching him get excited about learning a new sport.  He even brought out his 2 favorite stuffed animals to watch him play, Stripes and Brownie.

Second Breakfast

I'm so far behind on blogging, but that's ok.  I'll catch up later.  But for now:

More days than not, after Ethan goes to school, Graham and I come home and have "second breakfast."  This is Graham's hungriest time of day, so I gladly oblige him - since he will actually eat!
Today we made eggs with cheese together.  He loves helping me.  I guess it's part of the reason I'll make more breakfast - good ol' fashion time with my son.

Yes, I'm nice and greasy and still in pj's!

After we ate, I went about picking up the house.  I was delivering clean clothes to the boys bedroom and found this:

Too cute the way Ethan placed his animals when he made his bed

Ethan's Prayer at breakfast

Dear God,
Thank you for today, for this food you gave us to eat. God, I don't know what I can do to do better at school. I will try my hardest to get a green or purple. I love you Lord, and I will never let go of Your promises.
Amen

I love that sweet boy!
